Following the initial removal of a New Era Texas Rangers hat<\/a> from MLB\u2019s official online store earlier in the week, two more hats from the Overlap line have also been pulled.<\/p>\n

The Houston Astros hat, which appears to read \u201cAshos,\u201d and the Los Angeles Angels hat, which appears to read \u201cAnaels,\u201d are both now gone from MLBshop. The Rangers hat that was initially removed spelled out a vulgar Spanish word. The other 27 MLB team hats<\/a> from the line are still available.<\/p>\n

Fanatics, which operates MLBshop in partnership with the league, also ended its eBay sales listings<\/a> for those hats at 12:29 p.m. ET on Tuesday. It still has 23 of the MLB Overlap hats listed there<\/a> as of Wednesday.<\/p>\n

All three caps attracted social media attention last weekend for the results of a design that overlays each team\u2019s usual hat logo in the middle of their wordmark.<\/p>\n

Now, the Rangers hat is generating big sales on the secondary market. Since Tuesday, six have sold on eBay, ranging from $200 to $1,000<\/a>. MLBshop originally listed them for $44.99. One eBay seller has also listed knockoffs of the Rangers hat<\/a> for $36, with 123 sold as of midday Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Some of the sold listings for the original Rangers Overlap hat showed screenshots of MLBshop package tracking, which appeared to indicate that some of the hats purchased before they were removed have been shipped out.<\/p>\n

The Rangers Overlap hats now appear to be the most expensive individual New Era hats ever sold on eBay.<\/p>\n
