The Atlanta Braves<\/a> just cannot get past .500 in 2025. <\/p>\n

Their loss on Sunday, a 4-3 walk-off by Pittsburgh<\/a> in the bottom of the 9thin inning, was the 5th time this season the Braves lost in a game that would have put them at .500 with a win (shout out BP\u2019s own Sam Peebles.) The Braves once again are two games below .500, a record that that likely leaves many in bewilderment but is also completely believable. <\/p>\n

The level of pitching and defense Atlanta has displayed, especially in may, clearly shows a team that is built to win. However, much like last year, it is the Braves offense that keeps this team from reaching the level of winning it is clearly capable of achieving. The Braves now have a .690 OPS on the season through 40 games, their lowest OPS through this point in the season since 2016. It is also their third-lowest OPS mark through 40 games in a single season since 1990. This offense has simply plummeted since the start of May, and until results get better, hovering around .500 may once again be the ceiling of this team. <\/p>\n

David O\u2019Brien looked at how Chris Sale is continuing to return to last year\u2019s form<\/a> but is doing so without out much support. <\/p>\n

JR Ritchie continues to impress at the start of this season. Ritchie threw a complete game shutout<\/a> over the weekend down on the farm.<\/p>\n

Mark Bowman points out that no one knows more<\/a> that that the Braves offense must improve than the bats of the Braves themselves. <\/p>\n

The Rockies fired long-time manager Bud Black<\/a> in midst of historically bad start to season. <\/p>\n

Rafael Devers delivered the key hit<\/a> in the Red Sox<\/a> win on Sunday. <\/p>\n

Marcus Stroman of the Yankees<\/a> had a setback<\/a> in his recovery from a knee injury. <\/p>\n
