Brewers President\/Business Operations Rick Schlesinger said that a \u201chalf-dozen MLB teams reached out\u201d after the club hosted an alumni home run derby to \u201cget information on how well it had worked,\u201d according to Steve Megargee of the AP. The alumni home run derby was part of a 25th-anniversary celebration of American Family Field and saw former MLBers Prince Fielder, Ryan Braun and several others compete following a Brewers game last month. The promotion helped draw a sellout crowd of 41,944 fans, with \u201cnearly all of them sticking around to watch the postgame event.\u201d Other clubs \u201cnoticed too.\u201d D-backs President & CEO Derrick Hall said, \u201cIt was a great idea and applaud them. I believe all of us will be considering something similar.\u201d Brewers manager Pat Murphy said that it \u201copens the door.\u201d He added, \u201cCan you imagine the Brewers versus the Cubs home run derby — their three legends versus legends of ours. \u2026 Can you imagine that happening around the league?\u201d Megargee noted the Astros staged their own alumni home run derby events in 2018 and 2019, while the Braves had an alumni softball home run derby last year.
