The rubber match of this week’s Cincinnati Reds<\/a>–Philadelphia Phillies<\/a> series was delayed by rain Wednesday afternoon at Great American Ball Park.<\/p>\n

The Reds say the new scheduled start time is 6:10 p.m.<\/p>\n

The tarp came on the field more than an hour before the scheduled game time in anticipation of storms in the area.<\/p>\n

The Phillies won the opener of the series 4-1 on Monday<\/a> with a four-run rally with two out in the eighth. The Reds beat the Phillies 6-1 Tuesday<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The game originally was scheduled to begin at 5:10 p.m.<\/p>\n

Hunter Greene (4-3, 2.72), the Reds’ Opening Day starter, was scheduled to pitch<\/a> for the first time in more than two months Wednesday. He has spent the better part of the last three months on the injured list with a Grade 1 groin strain.<\/p>\n

Cristopher Sanchez (11-3, 2.36 ERA) is the Phillies starter.<\/p>\n

The Reds have a scheduled day off Thursday. The Phillies travel to Washington to play the Nationals.<\/p>\n
