MURRAY \u2014 After securing the program\u2019s first Missouri Valley Conference Tournament Championship earlier this year that sparked a magical postseason run, Murray State will host the 2026 edition of the Missouri Valley Conference Baseball Tournament, presented by Credit Union 1, at Johnny Reagan Field from May 20-23, 2026, it was announced on Thursday morning.<\/p>\n
This is the first official Missouri Valley Conference championship event hosted by the Racers since joining the league in 2022 and is the first time the program has hosted a baseball championship since 1991.<\/p>\n
\u201cOn behalf of our students, faculty and staff at Murray State University, we are excited to welcome the Missouri Valley Conference and our league partners to \u2018The Finest Place We Know\u2019 for this exciting tournament,\u201d Murray State President Dr. Ron Patterson said. \u201cOur baseball team put our institution in the national spotlight last season, and we are thrilled to have that opportunity once again.\u201d<\/p>\n
The 2025 Racer squad won a school-record 44 games and locked up the MVC Regular Season and Tournament Championships after bagging 17 conference wins en route to securing the No. 1 seed in last year\u2019s MVC Tournament.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur baseball program brought a tremendous amount of exposure to Murray State last season, and their success has positioned our department to host this incredible event in partnership with the Missouri Valley Conference,\u201d Director of Athletics Nico Yantko said. \u201cWe have already begun planning what we know will be a stellar event for our league and community, and are excited to welcome our league partners to Murray, Kentucky.\u201d<\/p>\n
Murray went on to win the Oxford Regional Championship, and the Durham Super Regional Championship before advancing to Omaha for the first time in program history for the 2025 Men\u2019s College World Series.<\/p>\n
As representatives of the conference, the Racers became first MVC program to reach Omaha since Missouri State did so in 2003.<\/p>\n
