Tonight marks Tomoyuki Sugano\u2019s 24th major league start. He\u2019s posted a 4.13 ERA in 126 1\/3 innings, and he\u2019s only the 10th Japanese-born pitcher to win 10 games as a rookie.<\/p>\n
Sugano has allowed five runs this month in 17 1\/3 innings, and two runs in his last two starts over 12 1\/3. Over his last four starts, he\u2019s surrendered six runs in 23 1\/3.<\/p>\n
Sugano hasn\u2019t faced the Red Sox. Nathaniel Lowe is 1-for-3 against him.<\/p>\n
The Orioles have won five of their last six games. They\u2019re 58-67 and can move eight games below .500 for the first time since July 29. They\u2019ve gone 42-33 since May 24.<\/p>\n
A win tonight would allow the Orioles to claim three consecutive series for the first time this season.<\/p>\n
The Orioles are seeing their second ex-Dodgers starter in two nights. Walker Buehler has a 5.43 ERA and 1.547 WHIP in 21 outings after signing a one-year, $21.5 million contract, and he\u2019s averaging a career-low 6.6 strikeouts per nine innings.<\/p>\n
Left-handers are batting .317\/.402\/.458 against Buehler and right-handers are batting .222\/.315\/.466.<\/p>\n
Buehler faced the Orioles on May 25 in Boston and allowed two runs and four hits in five innings. He\u2019s made three career starts against them and surrendered four earned runs and six total over 16 2\/3 innings.<\/p>\n
Dylan Carlson is 3-for-5 with two home runs against Buehler. He\u2019s in left field.<\/p>\n

Outfielder Greg Allen declined his outright assignment and became a free agent. He went 0-for-14 with the Orioles.<\/p>\n
The Orioles placed right-hander Esteban Mejia on\u00a0Single-A Delmarva\u2019s development list. He\u2019s met the workload goals set by the organization and will begin a development plan leading into spring training.<\/p>\n
Mejia, 18, is the No. 7 prospect in the system, per MLB Pipeline. He struck out 67 batters in 52 innings this season between Delmarva and the Florida Complex League.<\/p>\n
