Good morning, Mets fans!<\/p>\n

Backed by another gem from Kodai Senga<\/a> and his signature ghost fork, the Mets edged out a 2-1 victory against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Tuesday. Brett Baty<\/a> hit went yard yet again, this time a go-ahead solo shot. With Senga\u2019s strong performance, his ERA pretty much stood pat at 1.22. Baty\u2019s OPS climbed to .791, which is tied for the team lead outside of the big three. He also now has four home runs in his past five games.<\/p>\n

Edwin D\u00edaz<\/a> also notched his ninth save of the season, giving him 125 as a Met \u2014 moving him past Jeurys Familia<\/a> for sole possession of third<\/a> on the franchise\u2019s all-time saves list.<\/p>\n

As part of a long statement on ineligibility status, MLB commissioner Rob Manfred has removed a number of deceased players from Major League Baseball\u2019s permanently ineligible list. Included in this removal are all-time hit king Pete Rose and 1919 \u201cBlack Sox\u201d conspirator Shoeless Joe Jackson<\/a>. They are now eligible for the Baseball Hall of Fame, effective 2027. According to the New York Post\u2019s Jon Heyman<\/a>, former Astros first baseman Yuli Gurriel<\/a> is taking reps in left field to show MLB teams versatility in the field. The oldest active player in baseball is attempting another return to the majors, as Rich Hill<\/a> has inked a minor league contract<\/a> with the Kansas City Royals. The Los Angeles Dodgers have placed R\u014dki Sasaki on the injured list<\/a> due to right shoulder impingement. According to Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic<\/a>, the Dodgers were originally unsure whether Sasaki would require an IL stint. He\u2019s now officially been lost to the IL. In any case, it\u2019s not an ideal situation for the rookie flamethrower. He\u2019s shown flashes of potential, particularly with his impressive split-finger, but overall, it\u2019s been a somewhat disappointing start to his debut season.<\/p>\n

Clayton Kershaw<\/a> is set to return Saturday to make his season debut, according to Dodgers skipper Dave Roberts<\/a>. Kershaw missed all of the 2024 postseason and has been recovering from left knee and foot surgeries.<\/p>\n
