The Texas Rangers scored four runs but the Kansas City Royals scored six runs.<\/p>\n
There was an interesting starting pitcher subplot in today\u2019s game as 2024 Texas Rangers late-spring addition Michael Lorenzen was pitted against 2025 Texas Rangers late-spring addition Patrick Corbin.<\/p>\n
The result? It went about as you\u2019d expect with that caliber of pitcher as Lorenzen lasted 4.1 inning while giving up nine hits and four runs (three earned). Corbin, meanwhile, fared about the same. The lefty allowed four runs on seven hits and a couple of walks in 3.2 innings.<\/p>\n
So with the desperation innings-eater of the past and present canceling each other out, the difference in this game ended up being \u2014 aside from another day of floundering with RISP for Texas (3-for-15) \u2014 a solo Vinnie Pasquantino home run that untied the game in the fifth inning, and an insurance run on a bases loaded walk in the seventh.<\/p>\n
That dinger was Pasquantino\u2019s fourth in this four game series, one in each game. The Rangers lost the series 1-3 and finished the road trip 2-5.<\/p>\n
Player of the Game: Corey Seager led the way with three hits, including Texas\u2019 lone extra base hit, a first inning double.<\/p>\n
Up Next: The Rangers return home to face the Guardian and have the right guy on the mound with RHP Nathan Eovaldi next up for Texas opposite RHP Slade Cecconi for Cleveland.<\/p>\n
