To earn the win, the Rangers got contributions from several young bats that have had bumpy roads trying to integrate themselves as big leaguers. That\u2019s been one of the key issues with the the lack of production at the plate over the last couple of seasons, but tonight was a massive success story.<\/p>\n
Cody Freeman kicked off the scoring with a two-run home run in the second inning, the first dong of his big league career. Overall, Freeman went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBI.<\/p>\n
Wyatt Langford had two more doubles and a walk as he continues to heat up in the season\u2019s final weeks. Meanwhile, Ezequiel Duran is slashing .386\/.413\/.477 over the last couple of weeks and drove in three runs while also hitting a double tonight.<\/p>\n
Josh Jung has become a something of the poster boy for the struggles of transitioning prospects to lineup regulars this season. Tonight Jung led the way with a couple of hits, a home run, a walk, and three runs scored.<\/p>\n
With veteran Adolis Garcia also chipping in with a home run, the Rangers collected six extra base hits on their way to a second consecutive win over Cleveland.<\/p>\n
Player of the Game: While the young bats were slugging, Jack Leiter was shoving. Leiter had a career-high 10 strikeouts while allowing just two hits in seven shutout innings of work. Perhaps the most impressive thing for Leiter tonight was that he walked zero batters.<\/p>\n
