The Texas Rangers scored seven runs while the Arizona Diamondbacks scored five runs in ten innings.<\/p>\n
Two batters into this game and it was 2-0 Arizona. Uh oh, there goes the streak.<\/p>\n
In the second, it was 3-0 and tonight\u2019s starter Patrick Corbin had allowed three solo home runs. Uh oh, there goes the streak.<\/p>\n
After tying the game in the sixth, a half inning later, the Diamondbacks scored two, two-out runs. Uh oh, there goes the streak.<\/p>\n
After a ninth inning rally that included a potential wild pitch that didn\u2019t get far enough away from catcher Gabriel Moreno to score the tying run, the Rangers were down to their last strike. Uh oh, there goes the streak.<\/p>\n
Instead, Cody Freeman singled in the tying run but the Rangers missed their shot to take a lead in regulation innings. Uh oh, there goes the streak.<\/p>\n
After Chris Marin got Texas through the ninth in his return, in extras, the Rangers turned to Alejandro Osuna \u2014 batting for an injured Adolis Garcia \u2014 with two out and two in scoring position needing to get their Manfred Man in at the bare minimum. Uh oh, there goes the streak.<\/p>\n
Instead, Osuna hit a comebacker that ricocheted off Arizona pitcher Juan Burgos that rolled all the way toward the Texas dugout. That allowed two runs to score after some heads up baserunning and an excellent slide at home from Ezequiel Duran.<\/p>\n
Uh oh, Wild Card contenders. The streak is six games!<\/p>\n
Player of the Game: After Texas trailed 3-0 early, Freeman launched a two-run homer in the third to bring the Rangers back to within a run. It was Freeman\u2019s second big league home run.<\/p>\n
Later it was Freeman that tied the game with a two-out single in the ninth. Batting in the No. 8 spot in the lineup, Freeman went 2-for-3 with a walk, homer, run scored, and three RBIs.<\/p>\n
If something wacky happens this month, maybe we\u2019ll remember this one as the Cody Freeman game.<\/p>\n
Up Next: The Rangers and D-Backs are back at it tomorrow with a pitcher to be named for Texas in Nathan Eovaldi\u2019s spot in the rotation opposite RHP Nabil Crismatt for Arizona.<\/p>\n
