The Rangers had an absolutely fantastic week to end August. Not only did it bring them to a .500 month\u2014 after an amazing July and lousy start to August, .500 for the month is a relief\u2014 it brought them above .500 again for the season.<\/p>\n
Texas managed to take their momentum from their series win at home versus the Angels, with a absolute dominant finale, to Sacramento to sweep the Athletics for the first time on the road since 2015.<\/p>\n
The Rangers are now just two and a half games back in the wild card race and five games back in the division.<\/p>\n
While the Wild Card seems like the obvious road for Texas to make it to the playoffs, the division title isn\u2019t exactly out of the realm of possibilities. Texas and Houston still have six games left against each other, three at each team\u2019s home ballpark.<\/p>\n
Texas will play Arizona for three games, have a day off before coming home to play Houston over the weekend. For this year, the Rangers are 1-2 against the Diamondbacks and 4-3 against the Astros.<\/p>\n
