The Texas Rangers scored three runs but the Arizona Diamondbacks scored five runs.<\/p>\n
My assumption is that Ketel Marte isn\u2019t too happy with how things went down back in the fall of 2023. You\u2019re familiar, I\u2019m sure. Josh Sborz with a strike three looking to end the October \u2018Snakes Alive\u2019 hysteria as Texas claimed their first ever championship. Yeah, at the plate for that moment was Marte. He doesn\u2019t seem pleased with being trivia.<\/p>\n
After all, in five games this season against Texas, Marte has four home runs, including one in each of the last four games. Marte has hit six home runs in the second half of the season and four of them are against the Rangers. His last four home runs overall have come against Texas.<\/p>\n
Tonight, Marte\u2019s three-run homer in a 2-2 game in the seventh was the backbreaker causing the Rangers to squander an early 2-0 lead and prevent them from extending their winning streak to seven games.<\/p>\n
At least Marte\u2019s former team, the Mariners, also lost.<\/p>\n
Player of the Game: Jacob Latz was asked to perhaps go an inning more than he should have but he threw five innings without allowing a run. In the sixth, he allowed the first two runners to reach and then those runners eventually scored on his ledger after he exited, which tied the game.<\/p>\n
Still, in another spot start where a Nathan Eovaldi-sized hole exists, Latz gave the Rangers a good shot to win this one. The bats simply didn\u2019t back him up, going 0-for-9 with RISP.<\/p>\n
