The Minnesota Twins are in shambles, and frustration among fans is at an all-time high. Many believe the team\u2019s ownership doesn\u2019t care about the loyal base, especially following their recent decision to hold on to the team while selling off players. The tension between fans and ownership is boiling over, and it\u2019s showing in a big way.<\/p>\n

This bad blood, combined with the fact that the Twins aren\u2019t playing great baseball, has been devastating for attendance numbers at Target Field. That decline just hit a new low, with the team setting a record that no franchise wants to claim.<\/p>\n

Attendance for last night\u2019s game against the Chicago White Sox was the lowest attended September game in Target Field history. According to the Star Tribune, the previous low happened on September 15, 2021, when 14,222 fans showed up. Last night\u2019s game only drew 11,721 fans. That figure doesn\u2019t even include the roughly 300 dogs that attended for \u201cBark At The Park Night.\u201d<\/p>\n

On Pace for a Grim Season<\/p>\n

Tuesday\u2019s crowd was also the second-lowest of the season. The only smaller turnout happened on April 14, when just 10,240 fans came out, marking the lowest in Target Field history outside of COVID restrictions.<\/p>\n

Twins reporter Aaron Gleeman noted the team is now on pace to have the lowest full-season attendance in Target Field history. The Star Tribune<\/a> projects the Twins will finish the year with 1.8 million fans, down from 1.95 million last season. For Minnesota baseball, the numbers paint a grim picture.<\/p>\n
