<\/p>\nThe Seattle Mariners have been playing much better baseball in recent weeks, taking over the top of the American League West with a 23-18 record. The Mariners have struggled a bit recently, going 4-6, but it\u2019s been an auspicious start to the year for Seattle.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s only fair to question what the Mariners will look like in a few months. On the mound, when healthy, they have the best rotation in baseball. However, offensively speaking, Seattle has many issues to consider.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s why in a recent trade idea, they\u2019d land Philadelphia Phillies third baseman Alec Bohm, who could also play first if needed.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe emergence of Ben Williamson at third base has been huge for the Mariners, but there\u2019s a good chance the rookie will go through a prolonged slump at some point. Bohm, who is under club control through 2026, would give the M\u2019s an insurance policy for Williamson and a potential answer at first base for this year and next year.<\/p>\n
\u201cA right-handed bat, Bohm has made 504 of his 591 career starts at third and 84 at first. Last season he showed huge improvements defensively, posting a positive outs above average (plus-five) for the first time since debut in 2020,\u201d Seattle Sports<\/a> wrote.<\/p>\n Advertisement<\/p>\n Bohm isn\u2019t the perfect player, but Philadelphia and Seattle could get together for a potential deal involving him.<\/p>\n The Phillies would love to add another arm or piece in the outfield. If the Mariners were willing to part ways with that, a one-for-one swap with big league talent could be something that makes sense.<\/p>\n An All-Star in 2024, it remains uncertain what the Phillies are looking for if they make Bohm available.<\/p>\n More than likely, it shouldn\u2019t be too much for the Mariners and other teams.<\/p>\n
