Saturday night was just another exciting chapter in the life of a Los Angeles Dodgers fan. The team exploded for 12 hits, including two home runs, en route to a dominant 10-3 win over the Atlanta Braves.<\/p>\n

Coming off their 2024 World Series title, Los Angeles\u2019 eighth in franchise history, the Dodgers have picked up right where they left off. Saturday\u2019s victory improved their record to 23-10, solidifying their position atop the National League West. The win also extended their current winning streak to seven games.<\/p>\n

One of the biggest stars in the Dodgers\u2019 loaded lineup, Shohei Ohtani, was once again in the spotlight. The two-way sensation launched a third-inning home run off Atlanta\u2019s Spencer Schwellenbach to break a 1\u20131 tie. It was Ohtani\u2019s eighth home run of the season.<\/p>\n

Following the blast, Major League Baseball took to social media to offer a short but sweet reaction to the 30-year-old left-handed slugger:<\/p>\n

“Sweet swinging’ Shohei.”<\/p>\n

Ohtani began his professional career in Japan, where he played five seasons and was an All-Star each year. He made the jump to Major League Baseball in 2018, joining the Los Angeles Angels. During his time with the Angels, Ohtani won two American League MVP awards. In each of his final three seasons with the team, he hit at least 34 home runs.<\/p>\n

Now with the Dodgers, Ohtani continues to shine. His first season in Los Angeles was remarkable \u2014 he batted .310 with a career-high 54 home runs and 130 RBIs.<\/p>\n

Through 31 games this season, Ohtani is batting .293 with eight home runs and 35 runs scored. Teoscar Hern\u00e1ndez leads the Dodgers with nine home runs, while Tommy Edman is tied with Ohtani at eight.<\/p>\n

As of Sunday, the Dodgers rank fourth in MLB in team batting average at .257. They’re also second in the league in home runs with 53, just behind the New York Yankees\u2019 56.<\/p>\n
