With President Trump scheduled to attend Thursday night\u2019s game in the Bronx, the Yankees<\/a> are introducing enhanced security measures.<\/p>\n

As such, the Yankees laid out a series of guidelines<\/a> for fans who plan to attend the series finale against the Detroit Tigers.<\/p>\n

\u201cTicketed guests are strongly urged to arrive as early as possible and should budget extra time for entry,\u201d the Yankees said in an announcement Wednesday night.<\/p>\n

\u201cGiven anticipated street closures (for vehicles and pedestrians) and limited parking in the area around Yankee Stadium, guests should use mass transportation if at all possible.\u201d<\/p>\n

Thursday marks the 24th anniversary of the 9\/11 terror attacks, and the Yankees plan to honor victims and heroes during a ceremony before the game. The White House confirmed earlier in the week that Trump planned to attend.<\/p>\n

Yankee Stadium is set to open its gates Thursday at 4 p.m. \u2014 more than three hours before the scheduled 7:05 p.m. first pitch. Typically, Yankee Stadium opens its gates 90 minutes before the scheduled start time.<\/p>\n

The Yankees are limiting each guest to one \u201cclutch-type\u201d bag that\u2019s no bigger than 4.5 inches by 6.5 inches.<\/p>\n

\u201cGuests should make every effort to restrict personal items to an absolute minimum. Any such items should be able to fit in a pocket,\u201d the Yankees said.<\/p>\n

\u201cAll bags, personal items and their contents will be inspected before being permitted into Yankee Stadium.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Yankees listed laptops, tablets, bottles, cans, liquids and empty, reusable water bottles as prohibited items and said there is nowhere inside the stadium to store them.<\/p>\n

\u201cGuests should expect that typically accessible areas inside and outside Yankee Stadium may become restricted spaces before, during or after the game,\u201d the announcement reads.<\/p>\n

The announcement comes less than a week after Trump attended Sunday\u2019s men\u2019s final between Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner at the U.S. Open in Queens, which started a half an hour later than scheduled due to additional security measures.<\/p>\n

Many fans endured long lines and extensive wait times to get into Arthur Ashe Stadium that day as a result of the extra precautions.<\/p>\n

Thursday\u2019s additional security is set to come a day after Charlie Kirk, a conservative activist and prominent Trump ally, was shot and killed at Utah Valley University<\/a>.
