The Guardians<\/a> look to extend their season-best winning streak Friday, Sept. 19 and continue their climb in the American League playoff race<\/a> when they play at Minnesota.<\/p>\n

The Guardians are coming off a three-game sweep of the AL Central Division-leading Tigers \u2014\u00a0winning 3-1<\/a> on Sept. 18, 4-0<\/a> on Sept. 17 and 7-5 in 10 innings<\/a> on Sept. 16.<\/p>\n

The Guardians have played their best baseball<\/a> in September, winning 12 times in a 13-game span<\/a> to keep themselves in the race for one of the AL’s three wild card spots. They are 1.5 games back of the last spot entering Sept. 19. They also are 3.5 games behind Detroit in the Central Division thanks to their current season-best seven-game winning streak.<\/p>\n

The Guardians open a four-game weekend series in Minnesota, starting with an 8:10 ET game Friday, Sept. 19.\u00a0Cleveland began this seven-game road trip with a three-game sweep in Detroit.
