CLEVELAND, Ohio \u2014 Cuyahoga Community College head baseball coach Kyle Stahlberg has accepted a position with the Miami Marlins to coach in their minor league system, the school announced on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
The Marlins will announce coaching assignments at the end of the season. Assistant baseball coach Nick Kaplak will take over head coaching duties for the Triceratops.<\/p>\n
Stahlberg leaves behind a remarkable three-year tenure at Tri-C, where he transformed the program following a pandemic-induced hiatus. Under his leadership, the team compiled a 103-37 record, won back-to-back Ohio Community College Athletic Conference Championships in 2024 and 2025, and achieved a national-best 41-game winning streak last season en route to a 44-8 record.<\/p>\n

The Triceratops were ranked as high as No. 22 in the NJCAA poll under Stahlberg\u2019s guidance. His teams earned recognition both on the field and in the classroom, producing 36 OCCAC All-Academic Honorees and sending 19 players to Division I, II, III or NAIA programs.<\/p>\n
Stahlberg was named OCCAC Coach of the Year in both 2024 and 2025. His teams produced multiple conference players and pitchers of the year, including Mason Koons and Sloan Ulrich in 2023, Kyle Koehler in 2024, and Mitch Harder in 2025.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am grateful for my time at Tri-C,\u201d Stahlberg said in a statement posted on X<\/a>. \u201cRestarting and building the program was a true team effort, and I am very proud of what we accomplished together.\u201d<\/p>\n Before joining Tri-C in 2022, Stahlberg spent six years as head coach at Eastlake North, where he was recognized as the 2021 Lake County Coach of the Year. His playing career included stints with the Arizona Winter League, Traverse City Beach Bums, and the Canton Stallions, where he won national championships in 2010 and 2011.
