<\/p>\nThe Pittsburgh Pirates won’t be playing postseason baseball this year, but former LSU gymnast Olivia Dunne was a bit nervous watching Wednesday night’s game against the Cincinnati Reds.<\/p>\n
Dunne’s boyfriend, Pirates ace Paul Skenes, made his final start of the 2025 season on Wednesday. The former No. 1 pick gave the Pirates six scoreless innings in a 4-3 victory over the Reds. He’ll now finish the regular season with a 10-10 record, 1.97 ERA and 216 strikeouts.<\/p>\n

During the bottom of the fifth inning, Dunne was seen on TV recording Skenes. Although it’s nothing we’ve ever seen before, she was sporting pit stains on her shirt. To be fair, she was anxious waiting for her boyfriend to retire the side.<\/p>\n
Unfortunately for Dunne, a few photos of her sweating it out at Great American Ball Park went viral on social media.<\/p>\n

Before Skenes solidified himself as an All-Star pitcher, Dunne said she’d get nervous watching him play.<\/p>\n

\u201cI always say, it\u2019s way harder to be the person in the stands watching because I\u2019m not in control,\u201d\u00a0Dunne saidprior to Skenes’ MLB debut<\/a>. \u201cI can\u2019t control\u2014I don\u2019t know how to throw a 100-mile fastball, but it\u2019s hard to have no control. Especially with gymnastics when you\u2019re just watching. But I know he\u2019s got this and I just have a lot of confidence in him.\u201d<\/p>\n Clearly, things haven’t changed.<\/p>\n MLB fans applaud Dunne for her behavior.<\/p>\n Baseball fans appreciate that Dunne, an NCAA champion and Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model, gets legitimately fired up at Pirates games. It shows that she’s truly there to support Skenes and his squad.<\/p>\n Advertisement<\/p>\n Pittsburgh hasn’t been to the postseason since 2015, but Dunne isn’t going to let that impact her fandom. She’ll be cheering on Skenes and the Pirates for the 2026 season and beyond.<\/p>\n Of course, that’s if Skenes remains on the Pirates.
