Fry will be limited to DH and pinch-hitting duties after playing several positions last year for the Guardians. who reached the American League Championship Series.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"FERIYWC3XZBQ5BZN4XPFLHOOCU\">Lively is scheduled to visit Dr. Keith Meister in Dallas to get a second opinion on the strained right flexor tendon in his right elbow. Lively left Monday\u2019s start against the Brewers following three scoreless innings with pain in his forearm.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"ZFB4YBGPLVCCNHC654PODEYCVY\">\u201cWe want to make sure we check every box and do what\u2019s best for Ben,\u201d said manager Stephen Vogt.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"QYL7HV3X3FFMBGLTDRMHY2A4IE\">When asked if surgery was a possibility, Vogt said, \u201cWe just don\u2019t know. We have to go see Dr. Meister and see what he thinks.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"KUBLOJOFBVAW3LP6OHG3RSDBBQ\">Fry drove in five runs against the Tigers in the ALDS and gave the Guardians their only win in the ALCS with his 10th inning, two-run, walk-off homer in Game 3 against the Yankees.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"CLDVKQ3W3RERVLOIMDFGE234UY\">In other injury news:<\/p>\n<p>OF Lane Thomas has experienced no problems with his bruised right wrist during his rehab at Columbus. Vogt said Thomas will play at least a few more games for the Clippers.The Guardians are still waiting to get more information on top prospect Travis Bazzana\u2019s right side injury. Bazzana was injured on a swing Wednesday while playing for Class AA Akron.RHP Shane Bieber threw a live bullpen session on Friday, while RHP Trevor Stephan threw one on Saturday. Triston McKenzie, meanwhile, has been added to Cleveland\u2019s Arizona Complex League team was scheduled to start this weekend.No torpedo bat for you<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"2IDBAGJIUBCDRLVLZBUHQFOIQQ\">Jose Ramirez has been experimenting with a torpedo bat, but says he won\u2019t use one in a game.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"WE56POZBOZBTNJQEYYF3WI66CQ\">\u201cThe barrel of the bat is too skinny,\u201d said Ramirez. \u201cI\u2019m not using it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"T5GS23IWHJDV7F4SZEVPFOW664\">The torpedo bat, which is legal, moves more wood to the middle of the bat, near the sweet spot.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"HIBBXT6VIRBPLLUSAUD2OXWEH4\">Torpedo bat or no torpedo bat, Ramirez is hot. Ramirez took a 10-game hitting streak into Saturday night\u2019s game against the Reds. He\u2019s homered in his last three games.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"KIRHU6YGYBF2NKTDQPG3KY5PMM\">Vogt moved him back into the No. 2 spot in the lineup for the first time since April 17. He said it was because the Reds started lefty Brent Suter as an opener.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"ZI7JE3HFYBEIVABQ5SJBNZXQLU\">Ramirez went into the game hitting .387 (12 for 31) against lefties.<\/p>\n<p>Guardians roots<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"M66MFJHANNGZ3HFW7M6E7N7MOY\">Tony Mansolino, Baltimore\u2019s interim manager, has deep Cleveland roots. Mansolino was a coach, manager and instructor for 11 years with the Guardians before the Orioles hired him in 2021 to be their third base coach.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"QWFMWA4DQZF3NHGHLC3YCIUQ6E\">Mansolino was named interim manager Saturday after the Orioles fired Brandon Hyde. Thomas, starting his third game, had a hit and drove in a run. Parker Messick started and allowed one run in five innings. Andrew Misiaszek allowed four runs in the ninth to absorb the loss and a blown save &#8230; Austin Peterson (2-2, 2.40) went six innings and didn\u2019t allow an earned run, but took the loss as Double-A Akron fell to Chesapeake, 3-0 &#8230; Matt \u201cTugboat\u201d Wilkinson allowed seven runs on eight hits in 2 2\/3 innings as Class A Lake County lost to Great Lakes, 11-4. Christian Knapczyk, Jose Devers and Maick Collado had two hits each &#8230; Class A Lynchburg had 16 hits in a 12-4 win over Myrtle Beach. Bennett Thompson went 4 for 4 with four RBI. Tommy Hawke and Welbyn Francisca had three hits each.
