Jason Szenes for the NY Post<\/p>\n<p>It marked the shortest start of the season for Gil, who won the American League Rookie of the Year award last year but didn\u2019t make his 2025 debut until Aug. 3 after sustaining a lat strain in spring training.<\/p>\n<p>That turned his arrival into a deadline-esque acquisition, of sorts, and Gil mostly impressed across 11 starts \u2014 producing a 3.32 ERA \u2014 but struggled with command at times.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Luis Gil reacts as Vladimir Guerrero Jr. rounds the bases during the Yankees\u2019 Oct. 4 game.
