This is a guy that \u2014he chose us last year because of the right reasons. He wanted to be on a playoff team. He wanted to play in Fenway Park. He wanted to be a part of this organization. And since Day 1, he\u2019s given 100 percent to us.\u201d<\/p>\n
Cora praised Bregman\u2019s leadership and work within the community, but he wouldn\u2019t speculate on the 31-year-old\u2019s offseason mindset. <\/p>\n

\u201cThe kid is a really good player,\u201d Cora continued. \u201cHe\u2019s a great person. He\u2019s a great teammate \u2026 We just have to wait and see.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Cora said he learned not to put too much pressure on Bregman from watching how other organizations handled the courting process last offseason. He called it \u201cvery clear\u201d where he stands without any recruiting pitches.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe knows what he wants to do,\u201d Cora said of Bregman. \u201cHe understands who he is and what he wants, so giving him space is kind of the smart thing to do.\u201d<\/p>\n

That said, Cora laid out how valuable a player Bregman was to the Red Sox in 2025.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe\u2019s a good defender. He\u2019s a good hitter,\u201d Cora said. \u201cHe controls the strike zone, and where we\u2019re at as an industry, those are the players you want.\u201d<\/p>\n
