offense.

“Besides Springer, only Guererro has an OPS over .800, and their two notable offseason acquisitions in the lineup have underperformed.” -Ziegler

Ziegler also writes that even though the Blue Jays currently sit in second place in the AL East, they need to take a realistic look at their postseason chances and overall trajectory heading into October.

“While George Springer may not be viewed as the most attractive trade asset, especially with $25 million owed to him next season, his recent resurgence could make him a viable option for contending teams seeking an offensive boost at the trade deadline.” -Ziegler

Without Springer’s resurgence, the Blue Jays’ offense, which has already struggled at times, would likely be in an even more difficult position.

Previously on Blue Jays Insider

POLL

6 HOURS AGO | 118 ANSWERS

George Springer is taking on the Toronto Blue Jays problem all on his own

Do you think the Blue Jays would be last in the AL East if George Springer wasn’t as productive this season?

Photo credit: Yahoo Sports Despite holding second place in the American League East, the Toronto Blue Jays haven’t…

[2378
5,377,2554,1971,4,31,2062,13200,282,70,2553
0":"post-37871","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-toronto-blue-jays","8":"tag-baseball","9":"tag-blue-jays","10":"tag-bluejays","11":"tag-boost","12":"tag-mlb","13":"tag-offense","14":"tag-outfielder","15":"tag-resurgence","16":"tag-toronto","17":"tag-toronto-blue-jays","18":"tag-torontobluejays
["GET
