The Toronto Blue Jays<\/a>‘ infielder continued his scorching stretch of play in Game 1 of the World Series as the Blue Jays erupted to take a 1-0 series lead on the Los Angeles Dodgers<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Clement was his steady self, knocking two singles.<\/p>\n

The second hit was crucial: Clement drove in the go-ahead run with a bases-loaded knock up the middle, just the start before the floodgates opened in Toronto’s nine-run inning.<\/p>\n

In the process, Clement made MLB history.<\/p>\n

According to Just Baseball<\/a>, Clement is the only player in the history of the sport to start a postseason with 20-plus hits and 2-or-fewer strikeouts in the first 12 games of a single playoffs.<\/p>\n

That pretty much sums Clement up as a player. He hits the ball, and he doesn’t miss the ball.<\/p>\n

It’s a stat that couldn’t have existed a long time ago, when the postseason was only a round or two and players never got to 12 games.<\/p>\n

But in these modern times, there have been lots of talented hitters. And still, none of them ever did what Clement has done.<\/p>\n
