The AL Central was expected to be a very competitive division in 2024. However, many preseason predictions had the Guardians below the likes of the Kansas City Royals<\/a> and Minnesota Twins<\/a>. Alas, here we are. With less than a month until the postseason begins, the Cleveland Guardians<\/a> are back atop the AL Central, thanks in large part to tremendous offensive outputs from players like Jose Ramirez<\/a>, Steven Kwan<\/a>, and David Fry<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Despite immense competition from within their own division, the Guardians have remained one of the American League’s most competitive teams. They finally secured a spot in the postseason with Thursday’s walk-off win over the Twins.<\/p>\n

While they’ve clinched a playoff berth, the Guardians still need a few wins or key losses from other teams in order to win the AL Central. Here is the Guardians’ magic number for the postseason and division title.<\/p>\n
