The Rangers great week feels overshadowed by their loss on Sunday.<\/p>\n

Jack Leiter pitched a phenomenal game, taking a no hitter 6.2 innings before giving up a solo homerun to end the no hitter and the shutout. Whats worse, Texas lost the game 3-4 after Robert Garcia gave up a three-run home run. Two of those runners were inherited, one of which Leiter struck out a number of times before he singled to get on base.<\/p>\n

Before Friday\u2019s loss, the Rangers had a six game winning streak going continuing from the series in Detroit.<\/p>\n

The hitting has been flakey, albeit getting a little better? This week they had a lot hard hit balls that were just right at gloves. It does feel like they\u2019re seeing the ball a bit better.<\/p>\n

The bullpen is still messy. Both Luke Jackson and Chris Martin avoided injured list stints earlier in the week after Jackson took a come backer to the wrist and Martin heard a pop in his elbow. However, it looks like Martin could be headed to the IL anyway after leaving the game with \u201cshoulder discomfort\u201d on Sunday. Based on his reactions discomfort seems to be an understatement.<\/p>\n

The good news is the starting rotation. Against the Astros, Texas starters pitched 26.2 innings and. gave up just four runs. Against Colorado they went 18.1 innings and gave up five runs.<\/p>\n

And they honestly could\u2019ve easily swept Houston. The starting pitching put them in the position to do it. But bad luck, streaky hitting, and a messy bullpen ruined it.<\/p>\n

Evan Carter is now on the injured list thanks to a quad strain and Corey Seager might be out a few more weeks thanks to the hamstring.<\/p>\n
