After spoiling Davis Martin\u2019s strong seven-inning start on Monday, the White Sox<\/a> (14-34) look to hold off the Mariners<\/a> (27-19) and snap their fresh five-game losing streak.<\/p>\n

The starting pitcher for the Sox will be righthander Adrian Houser, who was signed today<\/a> on a one-year, $1.35 million contract, presumably ready to eat some innings for the South Siders.<\/p>\n

Prior to tonight\u2019s game vs. Seattle, the Chicago White Sox agreed to terms on a one-year, $1.35 million contract with right-handed pitcher Adrian Houser. To make room for Houser on the 40-man roster, the White Sox designated right-hander Yoendrys G\u00f3mez for assignment.<\/p>\n

The 32-year-old had some solid seasons pitching with the Milwaukee Brewers<\/a> in 2019 and 2021. However, Hauser\u2019s most recent MLB performance has been … not great. He tossed 29 1\u20443 innings for the New York Mets<\/a> in 2024 and ended the season with -0.9 WAR alongside a 5.84 ERA and a scant 1.529 WHIP. So far in 2025, he has pitched 39 1\u20443 innings for the Texas Rangers<\/a> Triple-A Round Rock Express and hasn\u2019t been much better at a 5.03 ERA. Houser was leading the Express in strikeouts (37), and though his WHIP looked a bit better (1.144), he also was second on the team in walks (15).<\/p>\n

Looking at the lineup, many assumed we would be seeing a lot less of Joshua Palacios; however, he remains plopped in the three-hole. Josh Rojas was also bumped up to the two-spot, which obviously makes a ton of sense, considering he\u2019s batting .167 with a .200 on-base percentage over the past two weeks. I\u2019m sure you can feel the sarcasm bleeding through the screen. <\/p>\n

On the bump for Seattle is righty Casey Legumina, who has thrown 14 2\u20443 innings in 15 games this season, but is making his first start tonight. Legumina has been solid for the M\u2019s this season, and is 3-1 with a 1.84 ERA and 1.091 WHIP. <\/p>\n

The offense got a late start on Monday, but the White Sox<\/a> could have a handful with heavy hitters such as Cal Raleigh, who is tied for third in the league with 15 home runs, and Julio Rodr\u00edguez, who just smacked a grand slam Monday.<\/p>\n

To the Mariners admin: yes, to deep dish, but try a tavern style \u2014 you won\u2019t regret it.<\/p>\n
