On Saturday, the Baltimore Orioles fired manager Brandon Hyde. On Tuesday, general manager Mike Elias talked publicly about the decision to fire Hyde for the first time. For ESPN\u2019s Buster Olney, Elias should have done that earlier.<\/p>\n
Before Elias met with the media<\/a> prior to Tuesday\u2019s game with the Milwaukee Brewers, Olney appeared<\/a> on Glenn Clark Radio. An in-season firing is a much different animal. Because while Elias wasn\u2019t meeting with the media over those four days, the plays \u00a0\u2014 and others<\/a> within the organization \u2014 were. They were now being forced to answer questions about their manager\u2019s firing. Questions that, naturally, would be better addressed by the person who made the decision.<\/p>\n \t
