The recently retired LA Dodgers pitcher complimented several Blue Jays players in an appearance on SiriusXM’s Literally! With Rob Lowe on Thursday.

“Vlad [Guerrero Jr] is just a special talent,” Kershaw said. “Some of the balls he was getting to and turning on and hitting, amazing. He might’ve been the best player this postseason other than [Yoshinobu Yamamoto]. He was pretty amazing.”

Kershaw wasn’t done there, either. He went as far as to say that he believed the Blue Jays hitters were better than the Dodgers throughout the entirety of the seven-game series.

“The whole Blue Jays team in general, they out hit us. They really did,” Kershaw said. “Ernie Clement, like what was that? We couldn’t even get him out. And then [Addison] Barger had great at bats, [Bo] Bichette was on one knee hitting homers. It was a great offensive group.”

Getting this praise from any opponent is special, but when it comes from a legend of the game like Kershaw, it puts into perspective just how well the Blue Jays performed.

Kershaw has seen plenty of baseball over his career, having pitched 18 seasons with the Dodgers. He finished his career with a stellar 2.53 ERA, appeared in 11 All-Star games, and won the Cy Young Award on three separate occasions.

Kershaw’s comments also show why there is still so much reason to be optimistic about this Blue Jays team going forward.

While they are still working on re-signing Bichette, the other three he named in Guerrero, Clement, and Barger will all be back in 2025. Should they be able to sign a free-agent such as Kyle Tucker, it wouldn’t surprise anybody to see the Blue Jays go on another lenghty run in 2026.

                Lead photo by

Nick Turchiaro/Imagn Images

One of the best pitchers baseball has ever seen had nothing but praise when discussing the Toronto Blue…

[2378
5,283,377,2554,284,4,282,70,2553
0":"post-442082","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-toronto-blue-jays","8":"tag-baseball","9":"tag-blue","10":"tag-blue-jays","11":"tag-bluejays","12":"tag-jays","13":"tag-mlb","14":"tag-toronto","15":"tag-toronto-blue-jays","16":"tag-torontobluejays
["GET
