He escaped a tense jam with runners on first and third by inducing Blue Jays catcher Alejandro Kirk into a game-ending double play.<\/p>\n<p>This marks MLB\u2019s first repeat champion since the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportingnews.com\/us\/mlb\/new-york-yankees\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:New York Yankees;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">New York Yankees<\/a>, who won three straight titles from 1998 through 2000.
