El Paso Chihuahuas (won 7-6 vs Tacoma) (23-24 on the season)<\/p>\n

Clay Dungan<\/a> \u2013 3-for-4, Triple, Two RBI<\/p>\n

Nate Mondou<\/a> \u2013 2-for-5, Home Run, Three RBI<\/p>\n

Jackson Wolf<\/a> \u2013 5 IP, 5 H, 3 R, 3 BB, 4 K (86 pitches \u2013 54 strikes)<\/p>\n

Clay Dungan and Nate Mondou led a potent Chihuahuas attack at the plate to lead El Paso to a 7-6 win over Tacoma. Dungan had three hits out of the leadoff spot, finishing a home run shy of the cycle. The former Royals draftee has posted a strong OBP and average in 45 games with El Paso, albeit with a 95 wRC+ in the inflated PCL. Nate Mondou had a home run and an RBI double in the win, driving in three runs. Trenton Brooks<\/a> had a three-hit game, driving in three runs in the game. Forrest Wall<\/a> finished 1-for-2 with two walks and a run scored out of the number nine spot in the lineup, raising his season OBP to .387.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Jackson Wolf was effective through five innings, finishing with three runs allowed while striking out four. The left-hander continues to puzzle opposing batters with his elite extension and deep arsenal, as he broke out six pitches against the Rainiers. Francis Pena<\/a> allowed a pair of runs in one inning of work, maxing out at 98.1 mph. With the Padres\u2019 bullpen facing a heavy workload in recent days, Pena could be a candidate to see MLB time. Ron Marinaccio<\/a> got the win in the game, tossing a scoreless inning and seeing his fastball velocity go up by half a mile per hour on average. Harold Chirino<\/a> got the save after replacing Reiss Knehr<\/a>, who departed with two outs in the ninth with an apparent arm injury after throwing an 88 mph cutter in the dirt. Knehr\u2019s status is unknown, though it will be a storyline to monitor.\u00a0<\/p>\n

San Antonio Missions (Lost 6-4 vs Wichita) (20-21 on the season)<\/p>\n

Brandon Valenzuela<\/a> \u2013 2-for-5, RBI Single<\/p>\n

Romeo Sanabria<\/a> \u2013 2-for-5, RBI Single<\/p>\n

Jagger Haynes<\/a> \u2013 3.1 IP, 8 H, 4 R, 3 BB, 3 K (70 pitches \u2013 43 strikes)<\/p>\n

Left-hander Jagger Haynes struggled against Wichita, allowing eight hits in 3.1 innings. Haynes only struck out three while walking three. Haynes\u2019 success comes off the back of his swing-and-miss stuff, but when it is not there, innings have snowballed on him. Haynes has allowed eight earned runs in his last nine innings of work, striking out ten but walking six in that span. Jose Geraldo<\/a> struck out two in 1.2 innings, lowering his ERA to 0.69 in 13 innings of work.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Brandon Valenzuela finished with a multi-hit game, driving in one of the team\u2019s four runs. Valenzuela was one of the team\u2019s strongest performers this month, as he has hit .375 with a .983 OPS in 64 at-bats. Romeo Sanabria continued to rake, as he had two hits, including an RBI single. The Missions\u2019 first baseman\u2019s hit tool has some of the system\u2019s most consistent bat-to-ball skills, and his power surge this season has been welcome to see. Nerwilian Cedeno<\/a> went 1-for-2 with two walks in the game, and Francisco Acuna<\/a> shrugged off a month-long slump for a 3-for-5 showing.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Fort Wayne TinCaps (Rained out vs Cedar Rapids)<\/p>\n

The TinCaps\u2019 regularly scheduled game vs Cedar Rapids was postponed due to rain. It will be made up on May 23.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Lake Elsinore saw several offensive standout performances vs Visalia on Wednesday, as a recent callup and one of the lineup\u2019s regulars produced in impressive fashion. 2024 19th rounder Victor Figueroa went 2-for-4 with a home run, his first with the Storm and his sixth this season. Figueroa has shown impressive slugging and power in a small sample size, and while he will be tested by the length of the season, he is making a phenomenal first impression. Ryan Jackson was 3-for-5 with two RBI out of the leadoff spot, filling in for Cobb Hightower<\/a>. Jackson has one of the highest OBP\u2019s in the California League, and could be another player on the rise soon. Kavares Tears<\/a> walked twice and drove in a run on a sacrifice fly for his 23rd RBI in 26 games.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Kleiber Olmedo flashed some of his velocity in his outing, but struggled with his command. Olmedo allowed six hits and five runs in three innings, striking out just two batters. The right-hander has seen ups and downs in his season, as it was his second start this month, allowing five runs or more. Vicarte Domingo was tagged with the loss, striking out two and allowing three runs in 1.2 innings. Domingo has some impressive stuff, with a hard fastball leading his arsenal, but he will need to cut down on the walks to keep his elite-potential strikeout stuff in highest gear.\u00a0<\/p>\n

ACL Padres (Lost 7-5 vs ACL Brewers) (4-10 on the season)<\/p>\n

Langston Burkett<\/a> \u2013 3.1 IP, 9 H, 5 R, 0 BB, 2 K<\/p>\n

Eguy Rosario was one of two Padres to finish with a multi-hit effort; the reset seems to be helping Rosario, who is hitting .273 in three games with the ACL Padres. Rosario lined an RBI single to score Donte Grant<\/a>, who reached base twice in the game. Yimy Tovar was 2-for-4 in the game, showcasing a smooth swing to produce two singles. Ismael Javier<\/a> scored two runs while also hitting his first double of the season. Yoiber Ocopio<\/a> finished 1-for-4 with an RBI single in the loss.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Langston Burkett allowed nine hits and five runs in 3.1 innings of work, striking out two. The right-hander is one of the more raw, but interesting arms in the system, throwing from a low three-quarter slot. Raymond Burgos<\/a> tossed 2.2 innings of scoreless relief, navigating through three walks. Right-hander Manuel Davila<\/a> was saddled with the loss, allowing two runs in two innings. In just his second stateside appearance, Davila recorded his first two strikeouts at the ACL level. <\/p>\n
