It didn\u2019t look like the Mets were going to win, and my son was crying. I said to him, \u201cIt\u2019s okay if they don\u2019t make it. This is what it means to be a Mets fan.\u201d And then Pete Alonso hit the go-ahead home run and his tears of sadness turned into tears of joy. And I said, \u201cThis is also what it means to be a Mets fan.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"clay-paragraph\" data-editable=\"text\" data-uri=\"www.curbed.com\/_components\/clay-paragraph\/instances\/cmaycljk2000p3b78930ev2h3@published\" data-word-count=\"36\">Is Hershey a fan too?<br \/>The highs and lows of being a Mets fan \u2014 these are things that Hershey will never know. Hershey just knows hot dogs. All the new elevators have six or seven digits. The lowest number I\u2019ve seen has three digits, meaning it was around the 100th elevator in the city after they started giving elevators ID numbers in the late 1920s. I\u2019ve heard that there are still single-digit elevators, but I\u2019ve never seen one.
