Mayza was perfectly cromulent while here. He didn\u2019t do anything that really stood out to help the team, nor did he really have a game in which he was horrendous. There was one outing against the Royals where he was charged with three runs in 2\/3 of an inning, but in that game, the whole pitching staff stunk. As a guy who really just gave them an extra arm out of the \u2018pen when needed, Mayza was fine.<\/p>\n
Again, he just was kind of\u2026..there. The overall numbers look rough because of that game against the Royals, but he didn\u2019t really have any kind of impact while here. He was acquired to be a placeholder for the rest of the season and he filled that just fine.<\/p>\n
If you want to find fault in something, find fault in the fact that they didn\u2019t have good enough minor league depth in the first place that when Alvarado was hurt, they couldn\u2019t simply call someone up in his stead.<\/p>\n
The future with the Phillies<\/p>\n
Apparently there is none. However, with the team looking to possibly move one of their left handed relievers, Matt Strahm being the name rumored to be most available, it\u2019s possible that Mayza finds himself back in the organization.
