History of San Diego holiday action<\/p>\n<p>Back in 2004, two transactions were made, one from the Padres, the other from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportingnews.com\/us\/mlb\/kansas-city-royals\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Kansas City Royals;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Kansas City Royals<\/a>. Back in 2002, the Padres signed Jay Witasick, another righty reliever, to a free agent deal.
