{"id":496252,"date":"2025-12-28T04:33:12","date_gmt":"2025-12-28T04:33:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/mlb\/496252\/"},"modified":"2025-12-28T04:33:12","modified_gmt":"2025-12-28T04:33:12","slug":"jeff-mcneil-says-goodbye-to-mets-following-trade-to-as-it-has-been-an-incredible-run","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/mlb\/496252\/","title":{"rendered":"Jeff McNeil says goodbye to Mets following trade to A\u2019s: \u2018It has been an incredible run\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Jeff McNeil\u2019s time in the Big Apple officially came to an end earlier this week.<\/p>\n<p>McNeil joined the <a href=\"https:\/\/sny.tv\/teams\/mets\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Mets;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Mets<\/a> as a 12th-round pick in the 2013 MLB Draft out of Long Beach State University.<\/p>\n<p>After grinding through the minors, he finally received his shot in the bigs during the 2018 campaign.<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p>He would establish himself as a regular in New York\u2019s lineup with his versatile glove and slap-hitting ways.<\/p>\n<p>McNeil finished his Mets tenure with a .286 average, 193 doubles, 80 homers, 367 RBI, and a .779 OPS in 923 games.<\/p>\n<p>He also racked up a pair of All-Star appearances, a Silver Slugger, and a batting title.<\/p>\n<p>The 33-year-old took to social media to say goodbye to the organization on Saturday night.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNew York will always be part of my story,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DSyNDKlkja_\/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:McNeil wrote;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">McNeil wrote<\/a>. \u201cThe Mets organization is all I&#8217;ve ever known since being drafted, and it has been an incredible run.
