The 32-year-old slashed .347\/.425\/.730 this past season with 27 homers and 79 RBI in 86 games, adding to an impressive resume south of the border. Despite his recent struggles, Anthony Volpe, the incumbent, remains in play. And several outside options \u2014 the Reds\u2019 Elly De La Cruz, the Nationals\u2019 CJ Abrams, and the Angels\u2019 Zach Neto \u2014 could be in play down the road should the Yankees look to augment outside the organization.<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Barry Johnson, a longtime Miami Herald writer who covers the Marlins, gave key updates on two of their starting pitchers to whom the Yankees have been linked. Miami is purportedly playing hardball on both Edward Cabrera and Sandy Alcantara, particularly the latter, who appears unlikely to be moved.
