Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Alex Vesia<\/a> and his wife, Kayla Vesia<\/a>, were supported by his MLB teammates in the weeks after their newborn daughter\u2019s death.<\/p>\n

\u201cHaving all the guys show up in matching pjs,\u201d Kayla, 29, wrote over a Saturday, January 4, TikTok video, where Alex, also 29, was floored on Christmas morning as his peers each wore matching pairs of navy flannel pajama sets.<\/p>\n

In the newly shared footage, Alex could be heard shouting, \u201cI freaking knew it\u201d once he realized all of the Dodgers athletes were dressed alike. He added, \u201cWe\u2019re all dressed in the same s***!\u201d<\/p>\n

Kayla captioned her post, \u201cA good laugh \ud83d\ude02.\u201d<\/p>\n

Alex and Kayla announced in November 2025 that their baby daughter, Sterling Sol, \u201cwent to heaven.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThere are no words to describe the pain we\u2019re going through but we hold her in our hearts and cherish every second we had with her,\u201d an Instagram statement read<\/a>. \u201cThank you to the Dodgers for their understanding and support during this time. Our baseball family showed up for us and we wouldn\u2019t be able to do this without them.\u201d<\/p>\n

While Alex and Kayla mourned their unexpected loss, he sat out the entirety of the Dodgers\u2019 World Series championship tournament last fall. The L.A. team, who even wore Alex\u2019s jersey number on their baseball caps in solidarity, ultimately beat the Toronto Blue Jays to take home the trophy.)<\/p>\n

Kayla later returned to social media on Friday, January 3, sharing an update on how she and her husband were coping.<\/p>\n

\u201cAlex and I are trying to get through it everyday. Every day is so different for us, and I don\u2019t really have the words,\u201d Kayla said in an emotional TikTok video<\/a>. \u201cI share a lot of Alex and I\u2019s life on here [and] it just felt right to come and say thank you. I am really grateful for the community of you guys just expressing your support and love for us. It really has brought us a lot of comfort during this.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kayla further shared how difficult it was to lose her child.<\/p>\n

\u201cBe prepared for everything, I was prepared for whatever was going to happen. I wasn\u2019t prepared for not taking my baby home,\u201d she tearfully said on Friday. \u201cI don\u2019t know what the [new] year is going to bring. I\u2019ll slowly be getting back on here. Love you guys, and that\u2019s about it for right now.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tThe Los Angeles Dodgers community has offered pitcher Alex Vesia and his wife, Kayla Vesia, support after their baby\u2019s death. \u201cThinking of you all and sending so much love,\u201d the team\u2019s official account wrote via Instagram comment on Friday, November 7, also sharing Alex and Kayla\u2019s heartbreaking announcement via their Stories. According to Kayla, she wanted to start sharing updates from her life and grief journey in the new year.<\/p>\n

\u201c[I don\u2019t know] what this content is going to look like going forward, but I do want to share my journey,\u201d Kayla said. \u201cI don\u2019t know how much I\u2019m gonna share, I don\u2019t know the details, but I do know I want to share if it can help somebody who\u2019s going through the same thing feel like they\u2019re not alone.\u201d<\/p>\n

She continued, \u201cI don\u2019t want to come on the internet and cry. I don\u2019t think that\u2019s fun for anyone. I think it will be a good outlet to be able to talk and share, different from me and Alex talking [or us] talking with our therapist. It\u2019s just a different outlet. Right now, I don\u2019t have a whole lot to say, just that I am really grateful for you guys and showing so much support and love to us during this time.\u201d<\/p>\n
