\n\tThe MLB<\/a> Network is celebrating \u201cShohei Day\u201d \u2014 a full day\u2019s worth of programming in honor of superstar Los Angeles Dodgers<\/a> player Shohei Ohtani<\/a>\u00a0\u2014 on Jan. 7 beginning at 9 a.m. ET. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe network-wide dedication, which will spotlight the dynamic designated hitter\/pitcher\u2019s greatest outings, takes place on Wednesday in honor of his No. 17 jersey, which he has worn since breaking into the Majors in 2018. The celebratory event will also feature some of Ohtani\u2019s most memorable games,\u00a0special\u00a0studio segments, guest\u00a0appearances\u00a0and a two-hour \u201cBest of Shohei\u201d highlight across\u00a0MLB\u00a0Network\u2019s shows and social\u00a0media\u00a0platforms (teaser above).<\/p>\n

\n\tOne of the most impactful talents the sport has ever seen, Ohtani has redefined what is possible on the diamond, capturing\u00a0fans\u2019\u00a0attention worldwide as a dominant force on the mound and\u00a0at\u00a0the plate.\u00a0Ohtani\u00a0is coming off of his second World Series championship win<\/a> with the Dodgers, and is a four-time unanimous MVP Award winner. \u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tAnchoring the programming day are two replays of Ohtani\u2019s greatest\u00a0hits, including September 19, 2024 (when he became the first\u00a0player in Major League history to join\u00a0the 50\/50\u00a0Club)\u00a0and\u00a0Game 4 of the\u00a02025\u00a0National\u00a0League\u00a0Championship\u00a0Series (during which Ohtani delivered\u00a010 strikeouts while going 3-for-3 with three home runs).<\/p>\n

\n\tThroughout the day, MLB Network<\/a>\u2019s\u00a0Hot Stove\u00a0and\u00a0MLB Tonight\u00a0will see\u00a0Ohtani-focused analysis and storytelling including\u00a0\u201cGreg\u2019s List,\u201d\u00a0where host\u00a0Greg Amsinger\u00a0will spotlight\u00a0the athlete\u2019s greatest career moments,\u00a0and\u00a0Chris\u00a0Young\u00a0will provide an in-depth breakdown examining his evolution\u00a0into a\u00a0generational talent.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe\u00a0celebration culminates\u00a0with\u00a0\u201cBest of Shohei,\u201d\u00a0an original\u00a0two-hour special airing\u00a0at\u00a07\u00a0p.m. ET.<\/p>\n
