As the <a href=\"https:\/\/clutchpoints.com\/mlb\/houston-astros\/astros-news-tatsuya-imai-signing-houston\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Astros signed Tatsuya Imai from Japan to start his MLB career<\/a> on a contract worth up to $63 million, it could lead to one of these three players being moved.<\/p>\n<p>According to Ken Rosenthal and Will Sammon of The Athletic, they doubled down on a report that Houston <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/athletic\/6941044\/2026\/01\/05\/mlb-offseason-latest-yankees-dodgers-mets-red-sox-blue-jays\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">\u201cappears increasingly likely\u201d<\/a> to deal either Isaac Paredes, <a href=\"https:\/\/clutchpoints.com\/tag\/christian-walker\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Christian Walker<\/a>, or Jesus Sanchez. They would say that trading one of the three names would \u201ccreate the payroll flexibility\u201d to address other needs like a back-up catcher, a left-handed batter, or a reliever.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs The Athletic\u2019s Chandler Rome wrote Friday, a trade of Isaac Paredes, Christian Walker, or Jes\u00fas S\u00e1nchez appears increasingly likely,\u201d Rosenthal and Sammon wrote. \u201cMoving Paredes or Walker would address the Astros\u2019 infield surplus.
