The Colorado Rockies<\/a> have been TERRIBLE for too long now, so I guess it\u2019s fair that the player who makes the most money on the team (by a lot) and has contributed very little, catches flack from fans\u2026 Even on his birthday!<\/p>\n

Kris Bryant received the highest contract in team history by signing a 7-year, $182 million free-agent deal with Colorado in March 2022. Over four years, he\u2019s only played 170 games, hitting .244 (154 hits in 632 at-bats) with 17 home runs, 61 RBIs, and an OPS of .695\u2026 Not the production you want out of any players on a Major League roster, let alone your big money guy.<\/p>\n

So, when the Rockies posted a \u201chappy birthday\u201d message<\/a> for Bryant on social media to celebrate his 34th trip around the sun, let\u2019s just say the comments weren\u2019t very nice\u2026 The post saw comments like, \u201cWhy did you post this?\u201d, \u201cHe\u2019s still on the team?\u201d, \u201cI forgot he even existed\u201d, \u201cThat guy will go to the bank smiling\u201d, \u201cRetire as a birthday gift.\u201d<\/p>\n

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Bryant still has three years remaining on his contract through 2028, with an annual salary of $27 million and a total remaining amount of $81 million.<\/p>\n
