Heading into the offseason, New York has shown interest in bringing him back, but no deal has been made.<\/p>\n<p>The Yankees have reportedly submitted two offers to Bellinger, but MLB insider Buster Olney of ESPN reported that there\u2019s a \u201csizable gap\u201d between the sides.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBased on conversations with industry sources, this is a standoff that exists for Tucker, Bregman, Bichette and Bellinger,\u201d Olney <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/mlb\/story\/_\/id\/47512606\/mlb-free-agency-2026-updates-intel-rumors-bregman-bichette-tucker-bellinger-skubal-marte\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">wrote<\/a> on Tuesday. \u201cMaybe the best working example of this is Bellinger: He is coming off an excellent season and the\u00a0New York Yankees\u00a0want to retain him. But there is apparently a sizable gap between what his side wants and what the team is willing to pay. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cBellinger made $27.5 million last season and it\u2019s hard to imagine his representative, Scott Boras, settling for a deal that averages less than that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"nesn-in-content-ad__copy\">Story continues below advertisement<\/p>\n<p>With the Yankees and Bellinger having a sizable gap, perhaps that leads to the slugger signing elsewhere this offseason.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Bellinger hit .272 with 29 home runs and 98 RBIs last season with the Yankees.
