Gray is the Red Sox’s new No. 2 starter and slots behind Garrett Crochet. Contreras is a significant upgrade at first base and he will supplant Triston Casas and others as the everyday first baseman.”

Boston could certainly keep improving. As Bowden later states, the club is still in the running to sign Alex Bregman, Bo Bichette, or Eugenio Suarez.

If they can come to terms with one of these players, Bowden will potentially have to revise his list and move the Red Sox a couple of spots further ahead of where he currently lists them.

More MLB news:

Ex-MLB GM takes notice of the offseason the Red Sox have had so far originally appeared on The…

[2375
72,1820,5,88,141,48,2542,92,922,3804,5416,4,89,2543,1587,67,1946,409
0":"post-508816","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-boston-red-sox","8":"tag-alex-bregman","9":"tag-american-league-east","10":"tag-baseball","11":"tag-bo-bichette","12":"tag-boston","13":"tag-boston-red-sox","14":"tag-bostonredsox","15":"tag-eugenio-suarez","16":"tag-garrett-crochet","17":"tag-jim-bowden","18":"tag-johan-oviedo","19":"tag-mlb","20":"tag-red-sox","21":"tag-redsox","22":"tag-sonny-gray","23":"tag-st-louis-cardinals","24":"tag-triston-casas","25":"tag-willson-contreras
["GET
