Red Sox fans continue to be given reason to hope for Alex Bregman\u2019s return.<\/p>\n

The star infielder remains a free agent with spring training a little over a month away. ESPN\u2019s Buster Olney recently reported that Boston made an \u201caggressive<\/a>\u201d offer to re-sign Bregman, who has multiple suitors<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Another positive update arrived Monday via USA TODAY\u2019s Bob Nightengale<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Boston Red Sox \u2026 remain the favorite for Bregman,\u201d Nightengale wrote before doubling down. \u201d \u2026 The Red Sox are the favorites to bring back Bregman.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nightengale also reported that the Toronto Blue Jays remain \u201cengaged\u201d in talks with Bregman and star shortstop Bo Bichette, who also is on Boston\u2019s radar<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Bregman signed a multi-year deal with the Red Sox last offseason but opted out this winter. He was a force when healthy in 2025, hitting .273 with 18 homers and 62 RBIs in 433 at-bats while playing stellar defense at third base and emerging as a clubhouse leader.<\/p>\n

Bregman will turn 32 on March 30. As such, this might be his last chance at a major contract, increasing the chances of him going to the highest bidder.
