The Toronto Blue Jays have ponied up the dough this season \u2014 and more of it may be on the way.<\/p>\n

Four-time All-Star outfielder Kyle Tucker remains a free agent, and while nothing is imminent for the outfielder, he has apparently caught the eye of the Blue Jays.<\/p>\n

Mitch Bannon of The Athletic<\/a> reported Tuesday that Toronto is increasing its efforts to bring in the Cubs star.<\/p>\n

This comes as Tucker was filmed<\/a> with Blue Jays designated hitter and former Houston teammate George Springer at SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., on Tuesday, along with fellow former Astros teammate Michael Brantley.<\/p>\n

The Blue Jays may have the inside track on Tucker if he values being on the same team as his friend Springer, and in about one month\u2019s time, the two would need to make the trek about three hours west to the team\u2019s spring training facilities in Dunedin, Fla.<\/p>\n

Toronto isn\u2019t the only team in on the slugging lefty, who is reportedly seeking a long-term deal worth roughly $300 million-$400 million.<\/p>\n

Tucker, who will turn 29 this month, figures to have plenty of suitors, including the Mets who are also reportedly involved with the outfielder.<\/p>\n

Former Mets general manager Jim Duquette<\/a> posted on social media that the Blue Jays, Mets and Dodgers were the most aggressive pursuers of Tucker.<\/p>\n

With the Blue Jays hot on his trail, it would look likely that Toronto will let infielder Bo Bichette walk in free agency after a strong season manning the keystone for the AL champions.<\/p>\n

Toronto has already spent big on pitcher Dylan Cease and Japanese infielder Kazuma Okamoto<\/a>, making Tucker\u2019s potential fit with the Blue Jays even more intriguing.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The Yankees are among the teams that have checked in on Bichette<\/a>, The Post reported.<\/p>\n
