The reason is that prior to the 2024 season, after shoulder surgery and rehab, he overhauled his swing to prevent reinjury to his shoulder.

This AZ Snake Pit article expressed a concern about his exit velocity (EV), especially on inside breaking pitches. Corbin Carroll improved his EV in the 2024 season, and he improved it further in the 2025 season. The following table shows the improvement. Please note that zone A includes inside pitches that miss the heart of the strike zone, while zone B includes pitches in the inner third of the heart of the strike zone. His 17 triples was a career high. For the last three seasons, his triples were the most in the Majors. His excellent hard hit percentage is reason for optimism next season.

He won a Silver Slugger Award. This season, three Diamondbacks won Silver Slugger Awards. The other two were Geraldo Perdomo and Ketel Marte.

A spreadsheet downloaded from this Ben Clemens article showed that in 2025 Corbin Carroll ranked low on making productive outs. The productiveness of his groundball outs was significantly less than the 15 players on the leaderboard (which included teammate Geraldo Perdomo). That weakness was more than mitigated by Corbin Carroll’s overall productivity when he made contact. In 2025, his xwOBACON was .454 (much better than league average of .367). His xwOBACON was better than 14 of the 15 players on the article’s leaderboard (only Juan Soto was better).

His baserunning run value of 10 was the best in the Majors. Although he stole 32 bases, most of that value was from taking extra bases with the ball in play.

Competed for a Gold Glove. Whether he was the best in the Majors depends on whether you prefer Outs Above Average (OAA) or Defensive Runs Saved (DRS) per Baseball Savant and Baseball Reference.

OAA. In right field, his 9 Outs Above Average (OAA) were more than any other right fielder in the Majors. In addition, he earned 2 OAA in center field.DRS. In right field, his 7 DRS was tied for the 8th most of any right fielder. In addition, he earned 1 DRS in center field.

He had career highs of 9 outfield assists and 3 double plays turned per Baseball Reference. When fielding the ball his reaction is reaction and range were awesome, and his route to the ball was ok per Baseball Savant. His 86.2 M.P.H. throwing speed for the top 10% of his balls was less than the 90.5 M.P.H. average of qualified right fielders.

Corbin Carroll was a finalist in the Gold Glove competition. Fernando Tatis Jr, who had some great statistics and made some spectacular plays won the award.

Corbin Carroll’s mindset includes some powerful thoughts. Two examples follow.

“Failure has definitely shaped me. With one exception, each of them projected less homers and less hits for Corbin Carroll. The one exception was a minor increase in hits from 146 to 151.

My view is more optimistic than the projections. A typical batter peaks between age 27 and 29. Because Corbin Carroll is age 25, it is reasonable to expect him to improve. My projection is 34 homers and 160 hits.

He will be playing right field on opening day. His season performance will likely be among the best in the Majors. Will he win a Gold Glove, another Silver Slugger Award, or maybe MVP? In any case, I’m optimistic that he will be one of the players that drive the Diamondbacks to the playoffs.

Rating: 9.38 [distribution: poor (3-) 0%, excellent (8+) 100%]2025 Stats143 Games, .259/.343/.541 (BA/OBP/ SLG), 140 OPS+, 5.8 bWARDate…

[2404
146,22,38434,4314,5,38,4
0":"post-510469","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-arizona-diamondbacks","8":"tag-arizona","9":"tag-arizona-diamondbacks","10":"tag-arizona-diamondbacks-analysis-commentary","11":"tag-arizonadiamondbacks","12":"tag-baseball","13":"tag-diamondbacks","14":"tag-mlb
["GET
