The Milwaukee Brewers<\/a> aren’t shy about trading away talented players.<\/p>\n

It’s been how they’ve made the most of what they have available to them in recent years. It helped them put together the best regular season record in the National League in 2025.<\/p>\n

Freddy Peralta is the logical next candidate. Will they follow their trend?<\/p>\n

“The Brewers didn\u2019t win three straight division titles by fronting the free-agent market but by maximizing their resources,” MLB.com’s Anthony Castrovince wrote on Thursday<\/a>. “That includes their trade chips, as we\u2019ve seen with the shipping off of stars Corbin Burnes, Josh Hader and Devin Williams in recent years.”<\/p>\n

If Peralta doesn’t go anywhere, he’s the Brewers’ ace for the season ahead.<\/p>\n

But if he gets traded, he could likely command a significant return.<\/p>\n

“All winter, we\u2019ve been wondering if Freddy Peralta might be next,” Castrovince wrote. “While the Brewers can ably afford his $8 million salary in his final season before free-agent eligibility, that low price tag also augments his trade value. And the Brewers have a nice stash of starters even if they do decide to move their ace.”<\/p>\n

There are plenty of teams that could use a starting pitcher. And some of the ones who would be interested in Tarik Skubal could choose to pivot to Peralta if the Tigers end up keeping their southpaw star.<\/p>\n

With a few months until the season, there’s still time for this to develop. Contending clubs can see who they do or don’t land in the latter stages of free agency and assess their needs.<\/p>\n

The Brewers will surely get calls about Peralta. How they choose to answer them could have a big impact on futures both in Milwaukee and around the league.<\/p>\n
