The 2026 MLB Draft<\/a> may not be until July during the All-Star Break, but it is never too early to talk about baseball.\u00a0<\/p>\n

So Happy New Year baseball fans, it’s time to break down this first\u00a0Top 100 prospects list\u00a0<\/a>and take a look at the first FloCollege mock draft of the 2026 season.\u00a0<\/p>\n

With some of the top prospects getting their season starts in the 2026 Shriners College Baseball Showdown<\/a> starting in February, the anticipation for the college baseball season has never been bigger.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Roch Cholowsky lands himself at the top of the Top 100 prospects<\/a> list and rightfully so. Cholowsky was on fire in the 2025 season and fans can expect for this to be the same in the 2026 season.\u00a0<\/p>\n

With the MLB Draft order<\/a> set, let’s get in to who some of the best young talent could land in July!\u00a0<\/p>\n

FloCollege 2026 MLB Mock Draft 1.0<\/p>\n

Please note players chosen are off of the Top 100 prospects list updated as of Dec. 22.\u00a0<\/p>\n

No.1 Chicago White Sox: Roch Cholowsky, SS, UCLA Baseball<\/p>\n

With the first overall pick in the 2026 Draft, the Chicago White Sox will almost certainly take Roch Cholowsky off the board. First of all, he’s the number one prospect. Second of all, he’s Roch Chlowsky, need we say more?\u00a0<\/p>\n

The ABCA Player of The Year in 2025, but also a Gold Glove winner at shortstop, the White Sox can use Cholowsky as depth behind an already successful middle infield.\u00a0<\/p>\n

No. 2 Tampa Bay Rays: Justin Lebron, SS, Alabama Baseball<\/p>\n

Most people would expect Grady Emerson to go second in the 2026 draft given that he is the No.2-listed prospect, however, Lebron would be the best addition to this Rays middle infield. The 21-year old shortstop had a productive 2025 season for the Alabama Crimson Tide<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Named an ABCA\/Rawlings Second-Team All-American, Lebron ended the season with a .316 average. The rising junior had 18 doubles and 18 home runs attributed to his stat sheet in the 2025 season. He also had 72 RBI’s , a .636 slugging percentage and 17 stolen bases.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Lebron would bring a few extra years of experience to the Rays who are looking to add more depth to the infield in the 2026 season.\u00a0<\/p>\n

No. 3 Minnesota Twins: Grady Emerson, SS, Fort Worth Christian<\/p>\n

Grady Emerson slips just one spot from a second-pick to a third pick, honestly for good reason. Emerson is still extremely young in the terms of draft picks, coming in the Top 100 prospect list at just 17 years old.\u00a0<\/p>\n

However, for the Twins organization, young talent is just what the baseball gods ordered. Emerson will bring a breath of fresh air and be able to grow in the veteran leadership of a seasoned depth-chart at short.\u00a0<\/p>\n

No. 4 San Francisco Giants: Derek Curiel, OF, LSU Baseball<\/p>\n

The Giants come in with the fourth overall pick in the 2026 draft and while this team doesn’t necessarily need more depth in the outfield, Derek Curiel could be an asset in the field or even as a potential designated hitter.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Curiel had a standout season with the 2025 National Champion LSU Tigers<\/a>. He carried a .345 batting average on the season and recorded seven home runs and 55 RBI’s. Curiel also had a .519 slugging percentage.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In the field, Curiel ended the season with a 1.00 fielding percentage with 96 putouts and two assists.\u00a0<\/p>\n

No. 5 Pittsburgh Pirates: Jacob Lombard, SS, Gulliver Prep<\/p>\n

The Pirates take home the fifth pick of the 2026 MLB Draft. Long story short, some young talent might be beneficial to the Pirates.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Enter Jacob Lombard and the Pirates have a prime pick. Yes, that Lombard, son of George Lombard and brother of the 2023 Yankees pick George Lombard Jr.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Jacob is set up to be very effective in the infield, and the Miami commit is sure to bring the fire to this Pirates organization.\u00a0<\/p>\n

No. 6 Kansas City Royals: Liam Peterson, RHP, Florida Baseball<\/p>\n

The Kansas City Royals have had glimpses of greatness but also valleys of lows as this team has the weapons to be great but often times has its struggles in key moments.\u00a0<\/p>\n

This is where Liam Peterson can come in to play. Now it’s no secret that the Royals already have a successful bullpen rotation, one that had the team sitting at seventh in the MLB standings with a 3.63 ERA. Peterson could be a valuable asset to this rotation.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Florida<\/a> pitcher had a good performance on the bump in the 2025 season. Ending with a 4.28 ERA through 69.1 innings pitched, Peterson struck out 96 batters and carried an 8-4 win, loss record.\u00a0<\/p>\n

No. 7 Baltimore Orioles: Tyler Spangler, SS, De La Salle<\/p>\n

Almost through the top-10 picks in this 2026 Mock Draft, and at pick No. 7, the Baltimore Orioles should pick up young talent in a short stop.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Tyler Spangler will be the name at for the Orioles. The 18-year-old Stanford commit<\/a> is a force at the plate.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Standing at 6-foot-3, Spangler has a good swing and will thrive under the veteran leadership of an already strong Orioles infield.\u00a0<\/p>\n

No. 8 Oakland Athletics: Cameron Flukey, RHP, Costal Carolina Baseball<\/p>\n

The Athletics will come in at pick eight and it would not be a fluke if the A’s drafted Cameron Flukey.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Flukey, a junior right-handed pitcher from Costal Carolina<\/a> had a successful 2025 campaign. The pitcher ended the season with a 7-2 win-loss record with a 3.19 ERA. Flukey struck out 118 batters through 101.2 innings pitched.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Flukey could be a valuable asset to the A’s bullpen with his speeds from the mound but also with his control.\u00a0<\/p>\n

No. 9 Atlanta Braves: Vahn Lackey, C, Georgia Tech Baseball<\/p>\n

The Atlanta Braves will be a spot to look forward to in the draft because there are a lot of different ways this team could pick. However, a position where some depth is needed for the Braves is behind the plate, hence why they should draft Vahn Lackey.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The junior catcher at Georgia Tech<\/a> had a great 2025 season. A 2025 ACC all-conference second team selection and a Buster Posey Award Semifinalist. Lackey ended the season with .347 average with six home runs and 42 RBIs. Behind the plate, Lackey ended the season with a .979 fielding percentage and caught 14 runners stealing on throw-downs.\u00a0<\/p>\n

No. 10 Colorado Rockies: Ace Reese, 3B, Mississippi State Baseball<\/p>\n

With the 10th pick in the 2026 MLB draft, the Colorado Rockies need some help or at least some depth in the infield.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Ace Reese would be a prime pick fro the Rockies to go after. The junior infielder from Mississippi State<\/a> is making waves with his power at the plate.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Finishing the 2025 season with a .347 batting average that accumulated 21 home runs and 64 RBIs, Reese is a powerhouse that seems to always find a way on base, hence his .419 on-base percentage.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The only concern with Reese could be his consistency on the defensive end, the SEC Newcomer of the Year ended 2025 with 12 errors and a .885 field percentage, but with time and growth could hone those skills in the Rockies organization.\u00a0<\/p>\n

No. 11 Washington Nationals: Drew Burress, OF, Georgia Tech Baseball<\/p>\n

The Nationals are one of those teams in the draft that could go a lot of different ways. Realistically, they could chase a pitcher, but with an already extensive bullpen, other positions could benefit more from this draft pick.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Enter Drew Burress as the Nationals’ pick. A fielder who could probably play anywhere in the outfield, but could be utilized in left-field the most. Burress had a heck of a 2025 season. An ABCA\/NCBWA First-Team All-American selection and Golden Spikes award semifinalist, the accolades were rolling for this Georgia Tech player.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The junior ended the 2025 season with a .333 average which allowed for 19 home runs and 62 RBIs. In the field, Burress saw a .986 fielding percentage for 136 putouts and two assists. \u00a0<\/p>\n

No. 12 Los Angeles Angels: Sawyer Strosnider, OF, TCU Baseball<\/p>\n

The Angels come in in the middle of the pack at pick 12. With a couple different ways that this team could go, outfield depth seems to be the thing calling their name.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Thankfully for the Angels, there is an outfielder at Texas Christian University<\/a> that can be a major impact, and the best part, he is only a draft-eligible sophomore with plenty of room to grow. \u00a0Sawyer Strosnider is the perfect combination of offense and defense.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Horned Frog had a stellar freshman season. Strosnider was named the 2025 NCBWA National Freshman Hitter of the Year and the Big 12 Freshman Of The Year. Ending the 2025 season with a .350 batting average, which included 11 home runs and 51 RBIs, Strosnider also accumulated a .650 slugging percentage.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In the field, he boasted 48 putouts during his campaign in right-field. He also ended the season with four errors, one assist and a .925 fielding percentage. \u00a0<\/p>\n

No. 13 St. Louis Cardinals: Chris Hacopian, SS, Texas A&M Baseball<\/p>\n

The St. Louis Cardinals come in at pick 13 and position depth is always a thing to be grateful for and this short-stop from Texas A&M<\/a> could be the winner for the Cardinals.\u00a0<\/p>\n

While Hacopian will be the newest addition to the A&M infield in the 2026 season, he boasted some impressive numbers while at the University of Maryland. Listed as an utility player, the sophomore had a stellar 2025 season. Hacopian ended the season with a .375 average and posted 14 home runs and 61 RBIs. The utility man also carried a .502 on-base percentage.\u00a0<\/p>\n

While the Cardinals don’t necessarily need a shortstop, having a utility player on roster would be a good start when looking at a potential backup first baseman. In the field this kid was good, with a .913 fielding percentage. Hacopian tallied 79 putouts, 118 assists and 18 errors in his 2025 campaign.\u00a0<\/p>\n

No. 14 Miami Marlins: Eric Becker, SS, Virginia Baseball<\/p>\n

The Miami Marlins could really use some middle infield help. Luckily for them that can come in the form of a prime short stop from UVA<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Eric Becker sits in the top portion of the Top 100 prospects list, and for good reason. The junior produced a .368 average on the 2025 season. With that stat alone at the plate, he contributed nine home runs, 21 doubles and 52 RBIs for the Cavaliers.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In the field, Becker posted decent numbers in the most recent season. With a .925 fielding percentage, \u00a0the Cavalier recorded 55 putouts, 118 assists and 14 errors.\u00a0<\/p>\n

No. 15 Arizona Diamondbacks: Tyler Bell, SS, Kentucky Baseball<\/p>\n

Another pick and another middle infielder is going off the board. This time, all eyes are on the D-Backs as they should look to take Tyler Bell.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The sophomore at Kentucky<\/a> is just heating up after an impressive 2025 first year campaign. The infielder ended the season with a .296 batting average with 10 home runs and 46 RBIs. While his average is a little lower than others on the board, Bell makes up for it in the field where the freshman posted a .972 fielding percentage. Bell secured 74 putouts, 134 assists and six errors.\u00a0<\/p>\n

No. 16 Texas Rangers: Jackson Flora, RHP, UC Santa-Barbra Baseball<\/p>\n

The trade deadlines, free agency and money have taken its toll on the Texas Rangers pitching rotation. So for the Rangers some young talent out of the bullpen could be a way to start an early spark in the 2026 season.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Jackson Flora could be that hot-hand and good push for the Rangers with the teams all-new coaching staff.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The UC Santa-Barbra<\/a> pitcher is just finding his rhythm after posting 3.60 ERA over the course of the 2025 season. Through 75 total innings of work, Flora struck-out 86 while walking 17. \u00a0<\/p>\n

No. 17 Houston Astros: Will Brick, C, Christian Brothers<\/p>\n

The Houston Astros come in at pick 17 in this 2026 mock draft. There are several positions the Astros could look towards, but some depth behind the plate is definitely a priority that should be focused on.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Astros could take the young talent in Will Brick off the board. At just 17-years-old, the Mississippi State commit is only going to grow and could thrive under the veteran leadership of the Astros minor leagues and Yainer Diaz who is already behind the plate.\u00a0<\/p>\n

No. 18 Cincinnati Reds: Caden Sorrell, OF, Texas A&M Baseball<\/p>\n

For Cincinnati, the outfield could always need some help and for the Reds, their draft pick is one of the best in the outfield in college right now.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Caden Sorrell has been a bright spot for the Aggies, even after his 2025 season was cut short due to injury. Despite this, Sorrell still produced great numbers as he ended the 2025 season with a .337 batting average. During the season, the sophomore produced 12 home runs and 32 RBIs.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In the field, the Aggie recorded 25 putouts and two assists for a perfect 1.0 fielding percentage.\u00a0<\/p>\n

No 19. Cleveland Guardians: Gavin Grahovac, 3B, Texas A&M Baseball<\/p>\n

The Guardians should realistically take some depth in the infield, especially at third base.\u00a0<\/p>\n

One of the top third base prospect is from the Texas A&M Aggies and has proven to be an asset in the infield but also in the outfield. Gavin Grahovac is going to be the name to look our for the Cleveland Guardians.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Grahovac had a decent 2025 season before injury ended the campaign earlier than expected. Before the injury though, it was shaping up to be a record season for the sophomore.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Through the six games he appeared in Grahovac went 5-for-22 at the dish and recorded two home runs and six RBIs. In the field, the Aggie had six putouts, four assists and three errors with a .667 fielding percentage in the shirt season.\u00a0<\/p>\n

No. 20 Boston Red Sox: Cole Carlon, LHP, Arizona State Baseball<\/p>\n

For the Boston Red Sox, a lot of people would assume middle infield, just to add some depth. However, this is a team that could utilize and run with some left-handed pitching out of the pen.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Thankfully, Cole Carlon from Arizona State<\/a> would fit the bill well for this Red Sox team. The sophomore Sun Devil has seen his fair share of the mound especially in the 2025 season.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In the most recent season, Carlon carried a 3-1 record from the bump and a 3.33 ERA. Through 54 innings of work, the lefty struck out 86 with 25 walks.\u00a0<\/p>\n

No. 21 San Diego Padres: Logan Schmidt, LHP, Ganesha<\/p>\n

The 21st pick of the 2026 draft will see the San Diego Padres on the clock. The Padres could look for a designated hitter, but could benefit more from a a lefty in to the rotation.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Logan Schmidt looks like the most promising pick for the Padres as Schmidt clocks in as one of the prep-school pitchers on the Top 100 prospect list. The LSU commit would surely make waves as a Padre especially with a strong arm and lots of firepower from the bump.\u00a0<\/p>\n

No. 22 Detroit Tigers: Maddox Moloney, SS, Oregon Baseball<\/p>\n

The Detroit Tigers had a great 2025 season, but there are always positions to improve upon and for Detroit, some middle infield help could be just the trick.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Maddox Moloney may cash in at just above the Top 40 prospects, but with good reason. The Oregon Duck<\/a> is a standout for the team as he concluded the 2025 season with a .309 average. Through his 56 games, he posted 15 home runs and 45 RBIs out of the box.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In the field, he is just as good. Moloney slotted 81 putouts, 118 assists and just six errors to end the 2025 season with a .971 fielding percentage.\u00a0<\/p>\n

No. 23 Chicago Cubs: Chris Rembert, 2B, Auburn Baseball<\/p>\n

It’s not often that a second-baseman will get plucked off the board in the opening round of the draft, but for the Cubs, you aren’t really drafting Chris Rembert for his abilities at the bag.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Auburn Tiger<\/a> had a breakout freshman season as he slated himself as a First-Team Freshman All American. In the 2025 season, Rembert ended at the plate with a .344 average that accounted for ten hone runs and 46 RBIs.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The then-freshman also tallied a .555 slugging percentage and with seven starts as the DH, the Cubs could use his pop in the bat as a weapon. \u00a0<\/p>\n

In the field, Rembert carries a .981 fielding percentage with 66 putouts, 86 assists and three errors.\u00a0<\/p>\n

No. 24 Seattle Mariners: Gabe Gaeckle, RHP, Arkansas Baseball<\/p>\n

The Seattle Mariners come in at pick No.24 in this 2026 MLB draft. With a lot of options for positions open for this team, a spark for the pitching rotation could be a great place to start.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Arkansas Razorbacks<\/a> will be a team to watch in this 2025 season, and their firepower comes from a sophomore on the bump. Gabe Gaeckle, who could be taking the mound for the Razorbacks on Opening Day at the College Baseball Series at Globe Life Field<\/a>, is a powerhouse for this team and with the 2026 season on the horizon, he doesn’t look to slow down.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Ending the 2025 season with a 4-2 record and a 4.42 ERA, his 19 appearances on the bump saw 71.1 innings pitches with 92 strikeouts and 31 walks. \u00a0<\/p>\n

A little shorter on the pitching side, just sitting at 6-foot tall, Gaeckle is bringing the heat.\u00a0<\/p>\n

No. 25 Milwaukee Brewers: Zion Rose, OF, Louisville<\/p>\n

The final official pick of the first round will see the Milwaukee Brewers on the clock to lock in a solid draft pick.\u00a0<\/p>\n

For the Brewers, no position is in desperate need of help, but some outfield assistance who could also transition to a DH would be useful to the ball club.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Zion Rose could be the player to fit the bill for the Brewers. While most would expect the team to draft younger talent, Rose has proven to be an asset in his early college career.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The sophomore Louisville Cardinal<\/a> had a standout freshman season and continued down the same path in the 2025 season. In the box, Rose turned out a .310 batting average with 13 home runs and 67 RBIs. With an impressive .552 slugging percentage, the outfielder took 13 starts as the DH in the 2025 season.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Speaking of the outfield, Rose had a heck of a season in left-field predominantly. 82 putouts, eight assists and four errors left the Cardinal with a .957 fielding percentage on the year.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Other Teams To Pick:\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Mets, Yankees, Phillies, Blue Jays and Dodgers all will forgo their opening round picks due to exceeding the second surcharge threshold \u00a0of the CBT. They are slated to begin picking prospects at pick 35.\u00a0<\/p>\n
