He\u2019s entering his final season of arbitration control before becoming a free agent next winter.<\/p>\n<p>Acquired from the Rays at the 2024 trade deadline, Arozarena has been an impactful source of power in the heart of Seattle\u2019s lineup since that trade. He had a slow start to his Seattle tenure but in 2025 slashed .238\/.334\/.426 with a career-high 27 home runs and 31 steals (the second-highest mark of his career). By measure of wRC+, which weights for the pitcher-friendly confines in Seattle\u2019s T-Mobile Park, Arozarena has been 22% better than average at the plate since landing in the Emerald City.<\/p>\n<p>Heading into 2026, Arozarena will again play a key role near the top of manager Dan Wilson\u2019s lineup. He\u2019ll be joined by MVP runner-up <a href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/players\/r\/raleica01.shtml?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.mlbtraderumors.com&amp;utm_campaign=2026-01-08_br\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Cal Raleigh<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/search\/search.fcgi?pid=rodrig014jul,rodrig010jul&amp;search=Julio+Rodriguez&amp;utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.mlbtraderumors.com&amp;utm_campaign=2026-01-08_br\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Julio Rodriguez<\/a> and the recently re-signed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/players\/n\/naylojo01.shtml?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.mlbtraderumors.com&amp;utm_campaign=2026-01-08_br\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Josh Naylor<\/a> atop what should be a quality Mariners lineup. The M\u2019s have been continuing their search for more bats, looking particularly hard at adding another infielder to the mix. They\u2019ve reportedly shown interest in trading for Cardinals infielder <a href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/players\/d\/donovbr01.shtml?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.mlbtraderumors.com&amp;utm_campaign=2026-01-08_br\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Brendan Donovan<\/a> and D-backs star <a href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/players\/m\/marteke01.shtml?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.mlbtraderumors.com&amp;utm_campaign=2026-01-08_br\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Ketel Marte<\/a>, and they haven\u2019t yet closed the door on a reunion with slugger <a href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/players\/s\/suareeu01.shtml?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.mlbtraderumors.com&amp;utm_campaign=2026-01-08_br\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Eugenio Suarez<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Arozarena was the Mariners\u2019 most expensive arb case this winter. Arozarena had been projected for a heartier $18.2MM salary <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mlbtraderumors.com\/2025\/10\/projected-arbitration-salaries-for-2026.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">by MLBTR contributor Matt Swartz<\/a>.
