Despite the uncertainty of how their roster might shake out, the Mets will remain in high-profile games at the start of the season.<\/p>\n

As part of a marquee Opening Day doubleheader on March 26 on NBC and Peacock, marking the network\u2019s return to Major League Baseball, the Mets will host the Pirates at 1 p.m. ET., as part of the first slate of games.<\/p>\n

NBC\u2019s 2026 MLB schedule is the result of a new broadcast arrangement<\/a> and marks the network\u2019s first full season of baseball coverage in more than two decades.<\/p>\n

MLB announced its venture with NBC<\/a>, along with ESPN and Netflix, late in 2025 after the World Series.<\/p>\n

The rights agreements are expected to span the 2026-28 seasons.<\/p>\n

As for the Mets-Pirates game, barring injury, Pittsburgh\u2019s opening day starter is anticipated to be reigning National League Cy Young Award winner Paul Skenes.<\/p>\n

After the matinee, the night game will feature the two-time World Series defending champion Dodgers and the Diamondbacks.<\/p>\n

The Mets will be back on the NBC\/Peacock three more times \u2014 June 21 (Phillies, 7 p.m.), July 5 (Braves, 12:30 p.m.) and Aug. 30 (Astros, 7 p.m.).<\/p>\n

The Yankees will have three outings on NBC, beginning with a date with the rival Red Sox on June 28.
