1920\u00a0\u2013 A plan developed by\u00a0Charles Ebbets<\/a>\u00a0many years ago is finally adopted: the annual\u00a0drafting<\/a>\u00a0of players from the\u00a0minor leagues<\/a>\u00a0will be done in inverse order of the final standings. (1,2)<\/p>\n

1961\u00a0\u2013\u00a0Charlie Grimm<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Verlon Walker<\/a>\u00a0are named to the\u00a0Chicago Cubs<\/a>\u00a0College of Coaches<\/a>. Using this system, a different coach will manage the team each month during the season, and members of the group will move between the major league team and its minor league affiliates. (2)<\/p>\n

2018\u00a0\u2013 The\u00a0Blue Jays<\/a>\u00a0sign 3B\u00a0Josh Donaldson<\/a>\u00a0to one-year deal worth $23 million.
